Chunking is used to process a large amount of information into smaller chunks. Common ways of accomplishing this would be to use smaller paragraphs, and create lists and bullet points to help break up the information.
People are not taking the time to read on web pages, and when information is long it will get scanned quickly, or completely skipped over.
Methods of chunking a web page:
- Short paragraphs
- Bullet points
- Headlines for sections
Below we see a great example of chunking that Best Buy has done. Headings, bullet points, and short quick paragraphs, with bold headlines. The information is easy for the user to quickly read.
